Ski touring and sailing Above the Arctic Circle on an isolated peninsular, the Lyngen Alps offer a dream background for those who appreciate «white adventures». Every day we will discover new slopes above the fjords, scenery perpetually unfolding, bathed in the incomparable northern light. Fresh light snow leading down to the seaside, marked by pretty villages with painted wooden houses. Our base is an charming sailing ships. It has been re-equiped for cruising in arctic waters ! A real floating refuge, it sails every day to a different drop off point. The climbing begins at sea level. Sailing takes place in channels formed by the thousands of islands along the Norwegian coast and in the fjords. It is a privileged moment to relax when it suits you : resting in your cabin, joining the others in the saloon just to talk, listening to music or even fishing for cod or taking photos on deck. This refuge can equally drop you ashore for an impromptu barbecue. At this time of year the Aurora Borealis occurs frequently and presents a fabulous spectacle.
Road Book Dates : 2014, Saturday May 3th to Saturday may 10th. Duration : 8 days, 6 skiing days. Supervision : UIAGM mountain guide. Ski level : The climbing is going to be between 900m /1200m each day. Physical condition : as we are starting from the sea, you don't need to be superfit. There is a lot of oxygen, which is a tremendous advantage. Accomodations : the confortable Fleur de Lampaul berth cabins. Formalities : French citizens need a passport which is valid for more than 6 months. Equipment to be carried : All the routes can be completed with a day pack. Price : 2350 € per person.
